Privacy policy

This policy explains what Nooryva does with information about you when you use nooryva.com, ask us for a quote, write to us, or subscribe to our emails. It is written to be read rather than to be got past, so it says plainly what we hold, why we hold it, and what you can tell us to do about it.
What we collect, and when
We collect what you give us, and the little that a web server cannot avoid seeing. We do not buy lists, we do not follow you around other websites, and we do not build a profile of you.
When you ask for a quote
The quote form asks what you want moved and how to reach you: the direction of the shipment, the commodity, your description of it, the quantity, the origin and destination, your timing, your name, your company, your email address, your telephone number, and any notes you add. We also record the page you started from, the language you were reading in, and, if you arrived by a campaign link, what that link said about the campaign.
When you write to us
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message. Nothing else.
When you subscribe to our emails
We record your email address, your first name if you give it, the language you were reading in, and the page you subscribed from. We also keep a dated record of every time you subscribe, confirm, or unsubscribe, so that we can always show that the emails we send you are ones you asked for.
What the server records
Every form submission is stored with the browser you used and a one-way fingerprint of your network address. The address itself is never written down. The fingerprint cannot be turned back into an address; it exists only so that the same machine cannot submit the form hundreds of times over.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- Because you asked us to do something. A quote request or a message is held so that we can answer it, and so that we can find it again if you come back to us about it.
- Because you agreed. Marketing emails and analytics both wait for you to tick a box or press a button, and you can withdraw either at any time without giving a reason.
- Because the law requires it. Trade, customs and tax records have to be kept for as long as the law says, whatever else this policy allows you to ask for.
- Because it is reasonable and you would expect it. Keeping the site running, stopping the forms being abused, and keeping our own books straight.
Who else can see it
We never sell your information, and we never rent or trade it. It is shared only with the companies that make the site work, and only as far as their part of it requires:
- the company that hosts this website and its database;
- the mail server that carries the emails we send you, and the mailbox that receives the notices when one of them cannot be delivered;
- Google, if and only if you accepted analytics, in which case Google Analytics counts your visit;
- carriers, agents, suppliers and customs brokers, where passing on your details is the only way to actually move the goods you asked us to move.
We may also hand something over if a court or a regulator lawfully orders us to. If that happens we will tell you, unless telling you is itself against the law.
Marketing emails, and how we count them
You join our mailing list only by asking to. Where double confirmation is switched on, you are also sent an email asking you to confirm, and you hear nothing further from us until you do.
Two things about our emails are worth saying plainly.
- Where we measure opens, agreeing to it is part of subscribing. The box you tick to subscribe says so in its own words, and you can turn it off at any time from your preferences page without unsubscribing.
- We do count the links that get clicked, so that we know which articles were worth writing. Unsubscribing stops this along with everything else.
Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes effect at once, and your address is added to a list of addresses we must not write to, which is the only reliable way to be sure that a later campaign does not reach you by accident. If your mail server tells us an address is dead, we stop writing to it.
Cookies and analytics
Nothing that counts you is set unless you accept it. The banner asks once, both answers carry the same weight, and refusing costs you nothing, because the site works the same either way. If you accept and later change your mind, withdrawing deletes the analytics cookies from your browser.
This site loads no third-party scripts and no third-party fonts. Everything it needs it serves itself, which means that reading a page here tells nobody but us that you did. The cookie policy lists every cookie by name, what each one does, and how long it lasts.
Where your information is kept
The site and its database are hosted on servers outside Pakistan, and the companies that carry our email may handle it in other countries again. Wherever it goes it stays subject to this policy, and we use only providers who are bound to keep it confidential and to use it for nothing but the job we gave them.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests and messages are anonymised 24 months after we last dealt with them. The commercial record of what was shipped survives; the name, company, email address, telephone number and free text that identify you do not.
- Subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your address on the do-not-contact list, because forgetting it altogether is exactly what would let a later campaign write to you again.
- Content deleted inside our own system can be recovered for 90 days and is then destroyed for good.
- Records the law requires us to keep are kept for as long as it requires, and no longer.
Your rights over your information
Whoever you are, and wherever you live, you may ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy of it;
- correct anything in it that is wrong;
- erase it, where we are not required to keep it;
- stop using it for a particular purpose, or stop using it at all while a disagreement is settled;
- hand it to you, or to somebody you name, in a form a computer can read;
- stop sending you marketing, which you can also do yourself from any email we send.
Write to legal@nooryva.com and we will answer within thirty days. We will not charge you for it, and we will not ask you why. If we cannot do what you asked, we will tell you which rule stopped us.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you may complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over an encrypted connection. Administrative access needs a password and a second factor, credentials held inside the system are encrypted where they sit, and every change an administrator makes to the content is logged with their name against it. If something does go wrong in a way that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the relevant authority without delay. How to report a weakness you have found is set out in our security policy.
Children
This is a trading site meant for businesses. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly collect anything about anyone under eighteen. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to legal@nooryva.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, the date shown at the top of this page changes with it. If a change materially affects what we do with what we already hold, we will tell subscribers by email rather than quietly amend the page.
Which language applies
This policy is published in every language this site is published in. The translations exist so that it can be read; if they ever disagree, the English version is the one that applies.
